Last Friday, the government announced that they would be offering another round of the Resurgence Support Payment. This is the subsidy that is administered by IRD. Applications open this coming Friday (17th of September) at 8am.
To qualify, your business will need to show a 30% drop in revenue, comparing a 7-day period from the 8th of September until all of NZ returns to Level 1 against a comparison period of a typical week in the 6 weeks immediately before NZ went into the present lockdown (5 July 2021 to 16 August 2021). Or put more simply, revenue for this week is 30% less than the weeks before lockdown.
Same as last time around, it pays $1,500 PLUS $400 per full time equivalent employee (up to 50 FTE’s). Something that has caused a bit of confusion: who counts as an employee? If you are a shareholder employee (i.e. you own a company but don’t pay yourself via regular salary/wages) you still are considered an employee – the form won’t automatically add you but you can add your name & IRD number manually.

Same time as the last one, you apply via myIR under the “I want to…” box in the top right-hand corner. If you meet the revenue decline and the other criteria, we encourage you to apply.
